During the summer of 2016, I worked as a sales and logistics intern at RentGearHere.com in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. As an intern I was tasked with managing day to day deliveries, working with customers, and setting up beach chairs and bonfire events after work hours. In the picture above, I am celebrating the end of the summer season with my boss and co-workers over a game of golf.
The picture above is of a bonfire event I set up for a family reunion on the beach. I was in charge of setup, break down, and helping to make the event go smoothly for its duration.
From this experience, I was introduced to the challenges faced in customer service and the logistical needs behind the service. They issues I faced helped to give me a level headed approach in customer/employee relations, a strong work ethic, and valuable experience in logistic planning. Working this internship allowed me to advance myself in my job at Stratix Corp.
Since May 2014, I have worked on and off alternating summer and winter breaks from school to work at Stratix full time. As an employee, I was tasked with staging various technological devices and running quality control tests for use in other industries. In my time at Stratix, I have gone from a staging technician working on devices for Hallmark to running quality control for the staging department as the last line of checks before they are sent to the consumer. In the picture above you can see one of the phones I staged and performed quality control tests on in use. This product design was created for American Airlines corporation for use in in-flight purchases and to positively influence the customers experience.
From this experience, I got my first glimpse into the way a corporation operates and the opportunity to gain new responsibilities and further myself in the company. At Stratix, I have become comfortable in a corporate setting and it has helped me to move forward in other job opportunities. The group oriented projects have made me a team-player and helped me to take a leading role in completing these projects.
